Observation details
Boat trip down river from Salineno boat launch. I spotted the Crane Hawk about a mile or so down river about where the next island is. The bird was obvious in flight, smaller than surrounding vultures and osprey with a distinctive fast, almost constant flapping method of flight. Overall long tail with few wide bars and the diagnostic white crescent in the outer primaries was clearly visible. It went from the Mexican side across the river and landed in a tree where Asta got obstructed, but also diagnostic photos. A few shots in flight as well.
