Observation details
In same general area as one 3-toed seen the prior evening so likely one male the same as previous day. 2 males, one female. Males were drumming and female pecking at dead tree. Loudest drumming on dead poplar tree, hope to figure out how to get recording split from video. All birds seemingly oblivious to 2 people tromping around in the snow underneath them. Smallish woodpeckers with white on back. Lucky enough to get two in one photo high atop a tree. Third bird was the first one seen and could be heard drumming about 75 yards away when photo with 2 taken so certain there were 3.
