Observation details
Three birds (one adult) on two nests and another adult gathering branches for another nest I believe These were the ones I could see the facial details for. There were a few other birds on nests I couldn't see well enough to ID. Lot of gurgling and burping but not sure if this was coming from the neotropics or from the double cresteds. Smaller and darker than the DCCOs with angled gulars that had a pale border (more prominent on the adults) Later on saw a young bird alone in the center lake. Swimming low in the water with not much of its back poking above the water at all. Dark lores, angled gular. Almost grebe-like giss Absolutely insane how quickly we went from Legg Lake's first NECO to now them clearly nesting, or at least trying to nest here
