Observation details

1st winter bird; Letha Slagle and I noticed it at the same time around noon. Massive gull in the flock. Distinctly larger than nearby Herring Gulls. Monstrous all black bill, thicker than that of all neighboring gulls. Immaculate white head with no streaks. Mantle and coverts were black-and-white checkered. Bright pink legs.
