Observation details
Ongoing rarity. Dark, flat crown. White on lower part of head and front of neck, breast. Dark neck collar. Back dark grey with lighter, mottled gray along sides. Pointed thick yellow-green bill. Preened for about 10 minutes, then began frequent dives. Found in a cove off east side of main lake, across from shaded picnic tables that ducks occupy.
