Observation details
And likely 3. Two flew in from the center of the golf course to the big pine snag at 66th and Sacramento (backlit in photos), nicely viewable from a bench on the bluff. I believe one of them stashed a seed in the snag. They seemed tightly together, as if pairing up. They continued north into the neighborhood together. A bit later a Pygmy Nuthatch flew toward the area they went, which I think was likely a different individual and thus a 3rd bird. These are all different than the one or more up at 65th and Beech/Failing, which I had just seen there. … I boldly and recklessly predict that if these birds are somehow still here come spring, a pair will attempt to nest in the snag at 66th and Sacramento.
