Observation details
One observed foraging on the ground near some pine cones. We later heard and observed 6 at one time over by the maintenance area of the park (next to the ball field at 33.8660415, -117.7709447). They were going up into the trees, landing on the chain link fence and flew down to forage in the pine cones on the ground. It was quite a spectacle! We heard the distinctive yank yank yank in other parts of the park as well but we did not add them to our count.
