Observation details
Lifer! So cool the first thing I noticed as we drove into the parking lot interestingly about 2 trees away there is a set of abandoned old nests that are all dried up which means weaver have had colony here before many coming in and out of nests although I don’t think any of them are actively building anymore middle feeding going inside maybe? Didn’t see any juvenile around one nest in particular had still green grasses meaning it was built more recently than the other ones one very interesting phenomenon when the beautiful sunbird land on the top of tree and call a bit the weaver all started calling very loudly some of the males start shouting and moving their wings like a juvenile waiting to be fed maybe trying to summon the female and this last for 30 sec and just ended uneventfully but during this time one female or immature was flapping its wings while continuing to fall to the ground like it was unable to maintain altitude it drop to the ground slowly and almost immediately flew back up again clumsily not back on tree but over the fence of the parking lot how strange! Also some birds enter the nest from bottom hanging upside down and go in for at least 1 min without come back out
