Observation details
Flew over land behind us as we watched from the eastern sea wall and flew north over the docks. Looks to be a very worn adult light morph. Initial impression was of a heavy-bodied jaeger with slow, deliberate wingbeats. Much heavier than surrounding Laughing Gulls. Photos show a thick bill and a broad wing base with a comparatively short tail. Possibly a hint of a “double flash” of white in the underwing, but hard to tell with significant wear. Photos.
