Observation details
Wow! Mind-blowing experience coming across these on the return to camp as the clouds/fog rolled in. Deep black birds with the flaming white-yellow crest, yellow eye/eyering, and pink-red legs. All together in an active and raucous flock in open, relatively short-stature forest on the ridge crest, downhill a little way from the burn scar (3.08842 S, 28.50264 E; 1580m). I grabbed a few poor photos and then focused on trying to record some of the peculiar and varied calls (snaps, whistles, burry trills, and warbles).
