Observation details
Exact count — medium-sized plovers foraging in short grass with extensive bare ground, amidst P-Dog Colony. Pale overall, sandy brown above with white underparts. At least one individual had a nice buffy wash on upper breast (spent most of observation time shakily attempting digibins). Lacking dark breast bands of Killdeer, really the only other Plover sp. possible in this habitat (or region for that matter, per time of year). Grating calls as they flushed, heading north/northwest and out of sight. Horrid digibin photos/videos attempted. One video also available, taken with phone as they flew within 10-15 meters of me.
