Background species: Wilson's Warbler, Gray-breasted Wood-Wren, Mistletoe Tyrannulet, Ochraceous Wren, Yellowish Flycatcher
Observation details
A pair calling just a couple hundred meters up Los Torres trail, then another individual at about 4 km along Los Robles, then one more individual heard calling at about 5 km along Los Robles. One individual of the initial pair and the third individual were photographed and recorded, and the first one was video’d. The two latter Ochraceous Pewees were at odds with Tufted Flycatchers, bullying them by chasing and displacing. The last Tufted Flycatcher and the first Ochraceous Pewee photos in this list show birds using the same branch (Ochraceous had displaced the Tufted), which gives a nice size perspective of the two species.
