Four successive cuts, between 4:45 and 4:54am, of the same individual male Blue-throated Mountain-gem singing from a perch ca. 8’ above ground in a red-berry juniper near the creek in our Portal yard at dawn. Background includes: Mourning Dove, N. Cardinal, Cassin’s Kingbird, Acorn Woodpecker. Recorded using an M-Audio MicroTrack 24/95 with a Sennheiser ME67 and foam windscreen.
Observation details
= 6 = /14; Blue-throated Hummingbird ::: our yard June 27, 2006 ::: 6 /14; Singing in the evenng, 7:20 to 7:30 p.m., down by the creek, same area and type of song as at dawn on a couple of recent days, the series of squeaks on three or four different pitches.
