Absence of a blue band across the chest and an entirely red bill confirms species as a Dimorphic Dwarf-Kingfisher.

Observation details

Lifer! A new kingfisher species seen. Slightly smaller than a Common Kingfisher, and a lot quieter. Prefers to sculk in vegetation, only perching briefly to dive into the river then hide again. Marks the 64th species ID'd in this local patch.
