Observation details

Will post the photos — Large loon with bill appearing truly yellow at the end. Warm brownish neck, large triangular head, and thick beak. Unfortunately, appears to have gotten its leg & back caught in some fishing line — not sure if it can fly. At the base of the fishing pier, often coming quite close and often in the same view as the ANMU. Coords: 33.7086387, -118.2772838. Update: The extent of the fishing line entanglement became clear as it got closer. Unfortunately, most orgs wouldn't/couldn't do anything since it was in the water. But it was taken into captivity by a marine mammal rescuer with the help of a lifeguard boat! It sounds like it may be in rehab for up to a month, but hopefully it can be released more quickly, since it does seem in good condition otherwise.
