Observation details
From Attiquin park, looking out, it was well off the beach, to the right, left of the leftmost patch of phrags, with a flock of goldeneyes in the general vicinity. Actively diving. Bright white cheek, dark along top of head, back of neck and body; decent but distant scope views. Attempted to digiscope, will attach poor photos that look a bit like the Loch Ness monster, but show the whiteness of the face, and the dark stripe down the back of the neck, dark back. Neck and bill longer than horned grebe, but that doesn’t really show as well in the photos. Bright white check unlike winter RNGR. With the heat distortion, I had trouble with digiscoping, but the scope views were definitely clearer…
