Observation details
Watched single bird in immature plumage for approximately 45 minutes while it hunted a small field. Initially viewed when I saw it fly to the ground at the far side of the field. Couldn't get a positive id on the ground, but it flew to a low perch where I had a great view through my scope. Later witnessed it have a successful hunt, and still later saw it with what looked like a chunk of flesh in its bill.
