Media notes
An extralimital Carolina Wren—found by others near the SWRS—sings from an unseen position in the understory near the creek behind the research station buildings. It has quite a varied repertoire. Recorded using an M-Audio MicroTrack 24/95 with a Sennheiser ME67 and foam windscreen.
Observation details
Continuing since September; singing strongly, in a new area slightly up Middle Fork. Quite a varied repertoire (recordings attached). From REW's notes: "Visually, underparts not strongly buffy, with some whitish tones on the center of the lower breast; the cheek is fairly white, with stripes toward the back just inside a blackish curl around bordering the back of the cheek; supercilium not all that bright white."
