Observation details
The first RBTR that was seen flew extensively just off the cliffs here generally in the company of RTTR though it was not observed to interact with them. It vocalized shrill squacks often apparently to warn them away. The second RBTR was seen less in this section of the Ka Iwi cliffs, and it may have spent more time on the other (Lanai Lookout) end of the cliffs. They flew by each other a few times but did not voice any calls or interact with one exception, when both RBTR flew up to a known past nesting site on the cliff. The first RBTR flew up to the site and probably hovered in front of it (it was out of view) before flying off; second RBTR followed the first less than a minute later and also appeared to spend a few seconds at the site before flying off. No other significant interaction was observed between the two RBTR.
