Observation details
Female; photos. On south side of extension of Bobo Road that comes into WMA from Bethel Church Road; bird was in the wooded/brushy corridor of Bayou Creek, about 150 yards south of the concrete culvert/ steep road crossing. Seen pretty well for about five minutes as it remained about 10-12 feet up in a tangle of vines. Twice gave the raspy "zhree" call characteristic of this species. Photos do not reveal anything that makes the bird look like a hybrid. Perhaps could have more whitish markings on the back, but that was part of the bird that we actually saw the least of due to its height in the vegetation. Seen by BPB, Mark Vukovich, and Mycah Scoggins.
