Observation details
When I got out of my car, there were two birds in the same tree canopy, near the walkway to the concession building. I went to look for the Rock Wren and then returned to focus on the shrikes. Bird 1: First bird I observed closely was perched on a sign at 29.943542, -97.904124 and vocalized repeatedly. It was unbanded. It flew to the trees on the far west side of the park. Bird 2: Bird perched in a tree near the walkway to the concession building (29.941887, -97.901925) and vocalized. It was also unbanded. Bird flew while I was taking notes but I think it was later vocalizing from one of the light poles near the same walkway. When I got to the far west side of the park, I saw one bird (possibly Bird 1) that flew to the ground to forage and then returned to one tree. Another bird (possibly Bird 2) vocalized from a different tree and then flew southeast toward the general area where Bird 2 had been. The other bird flew to two other trees in the same area and vocalized. A mockingbird flew into the top of the original tree, and the shrike immediately flew toward it causing the mockingbird to drop lower in the tree.
