Observation details
Continuing. 2 males, 3 females. Female: brown body, a little bit of white on the rump, gray head with smoky eye. Each with her own American Coot that she is following or next to. After the Coot comes up from diving, she pecks at the food that it is bringing up as it is surfacing. Poaching behavior. Repeated. Nearby female has horizontal little white stripe on the rear flank. Males with cream colored forehead and crown, black with more (and cleaner) white on rear. Light bills on all.
