Observation details
so cool! while walking along the small dirt path along the periphery of the fountain pool flushed a group of munias, they initially perched on tree after being flushed from the ground and thickets, i got photos briefly before they took off, making soft calls as they flew - so cute! when returning, I encounted the same flock again, they were really friendly and allowed some very nice photos, I also got great views of some immatures with plain undersides, and one had its mouth open for several seconds without vocalizing - see photos, which I thought was interesting, don't know why. estimated count, probably larger than this number. they were so cute, my best photos yet of this species and closest encounter, most of them just perched on the reeds in front of me and as long as I didn't advance, I could take many photos without them being flushed. didn't vocalize a lot, eventually that flock flew away as I had to walk through the path. so cool!!!
