Observation details
Riding the tram back and the driver slowed and pointed out where someone had seen it just a couple hours earlier and as if on que, the bird flew up into a nearby snag. Tried to get a photo but it was behind the snag and when it flew off again it went deeper into the woods. I got off the tram in hopes getting a better view and some photos, but no luck. Bird was seen mostly from the back. Slate grey, dark band on tail and could see a bit of the barring on the breast when it flew. It's most noticable feature, the hooked beak was unmistakable. Dropped pin for exact location. Photo was a 'Blind' shot. Didn't know where it was at, just ara. Cropped is zoomed in of bottom right 1/4 of pic. Can just make out the birds outline, but that's about it.
