Observation details
**rare: First found by Peter Alden earlier today (at the Marshall Farm parking lot), who called on us to make sure it wasn’t a CCSP/BRSP. Sure enough, it was a nice CCSP! Light lores, thick eye ring, pale face overall, no rufous to the crown stripes which were streaked with black, extensive gray nape. First Spizella we saw, and also first to flush when everything got spooked. Feeding closely with CHSP flock. The CHSP flock across the river often stays the whole winter when they’re present, so I bet this bird will stay in the area.
