Observation details
Very vocal, count based on vocalizations (later supported by visual counts). Flock of 12 flew in to Timber Canyon site 707 from the woods to the east at 4:01 pm, lingered and called for 8 minutes, then departed to the west toward the wildlife area at 4:09 pm. At 4:29 pm an additional 5 were heard calling near the handicap restroom to the east; they came to site 707 and feasted on cedar berries until 4:37 pm then departed to the south, toward Suicide Bluff; as of that time the original flock had not come back through. At 4:44 pm 9-10 birds flew from Suicide Bluff northeasterly over the area, apparently a mix of the two flocks, with some again stopping to eat cedar berries. Individuals lingered in the area for another 30 minutes or so, with most trickling easterly by sundown.
