Observation details
Reported near here in the morning. Walking and foraging along the Gulf shoreline, sometimes at the Eglin recreation buildings (but you need to walk in from the Princess Beach parking access, about 1 mile west of the Eglin recreation buildings). Shorebird larger than willets, long and dull red bill, black head, breast, and upperparts; white wing stripes, belly, and under tail covers, weird eyes (narrow pupils) and reddish eyering; dull pinkish legs. Too windy to hear its occasional calling.
