Observation details
Initially resting on grassy field with bill tucked but stood out from Dunlin as darker with pale feather edging on back. (I finally could understand why Purple Sandpipers got their name.). I was able to move to see markings on side, and eventually downturned bill with yellowish base. A bit larger than nearby DUNL. Associating with DUNL, later BLTU, SURF. Will add photos later if useful. Grassy field by restroom and playground by lower campground.
