Observation details
Update: Anthony F. reached out regarding this bird, pointing out that the fading to pink bill is typical of advanced immature Iceland Gull. They also felt the head and face seemed more Iceland than Glaucous. I don't know - though I felt at the time that the bill had distinct division between the two colors and I wondered when I downloaded the photos if there was some effect of the photo (it was low, poor light) to make the color look more uniform. I'm adding a few more photos, though unfortunately they are less helpful than this one. I'm happy to downgrade this to Larus sp. or switch to Iceland if the moderaters wish. The bird seemed quite large in the field, but there weren't a lot of other birds there for comparison - so it's entirely possible i misjudged the size. Thanks to AF for the input! Very large, all-white gull with bicolored bill, continuing in the area. Poor Photos
