Observation details
At least. Maybe a migrating flock resting. 3 individual still in breeding colours, more than 7 present. 5-6 non br individuals clearly seen. Similar in behaviour with Rosy, foraging on damp patches in cultivation fields. Bobbing its tail and making small runs here and there. Much more restless than Rosy. Very weary and doesnt allow much. Beautiful bird ! Further explanation: It is foraging on the fields opposite to a store, only one present there names Animal and Fish Food Center. The field is damp with a patch of water, a perfect feeding grounds for Wagtails, Stints, Plovers ( they were present in large numbers). Lets call it Land1. There is an adjacent field which is more or less still full of water., and mostly Wagtails and some Rosy Pipits (~4). Lets call it Land 2. and then there is another field that is mostly dried up with a blue water container and a broken "tubewell like" structure present. This is Land3. We were sitting on the interjection of Land2 and Land1. We found 2 Red-Throated Pipits on land1 ( nonbr. and br.) with 4 rosy pipits. Arka Karmakar was clicking the birds on Land1, when Biswanath Mondal asked me to come to land 2 where we found 4 more, 1 in breeding and 3 in non br along with 6 Rosy. Then we saw the entire 4-7 flock on land1. Then we went to land3 for inspection, keeping in mind that one person is looking at the Red-throated Pipits on the other 2 lands. There we found 2 more Red Throated Pipits and 8 more Rosy. During 4:02PM, two red throated pipits along 10-12 pipits flew towards the other end of the grassland. Some more pipits came and we could hear RTP flight calls (matching from merlin) from the flock. photos are on the way.
