Observation details
A pair of Egyptian geese pushed a few stones together on a support structure under the road bed of the 563 bridge at Haycock Run and successfully nested there, producing several chicks. Several days after this photo was taken, the chicks fledged the "nest" by jumping from the slab into the lake below, then climbed on the parent's back and rode away to the other side of the lake, where they were later found being raised at a farm pond. A small population of Egyptian geese was sporadically present at Lake Nockamixon for a few years around that time, but this was the only confirmed breeding record I know of.
