Observation details
Rare. Continuing on the trail at the top of the bluff near devil’s doorway. Actively foraging up close. Larger than a House Finch, but smaller than a Grosbeak. Bright gray crown, black face, yellow bill, rusty brown colored body with pink hues in the wings and belly. The gray crown and rusty brown color meet halfway on the head. Unmistakable and extremely stunning. Many close photos were taken of this bird.
