Heavily reduced frequencies below 2.5k in order to isolate tern sounds from loud noises of the dam.
Observation details
Continuing. Black on head extends around the back of the neck. Several adults with a full black cap and several young with white top/front of the head and black wrapping around back of head. White forked tails. Watched them fly around just below the dam for a bit. They stayed pretty close to the dam. Often giving little squeaky 'pik' noises. Would dive to the surface of the river to catch food, then maneuver to avoid gulls that wanted to steal the food. When interactions with the gulls got close they would give a loud, raspy, slightly descending call.
