Observation details
1. At first was confused between Striated & Bristled Grassbird. But the former should have longer tail, as in the Macaulay Library IMO. ✅ got it, the namesake rictal bristles are visible (5 here). 2. This individual was my first encounter among the 'special' birds today. She let me get close. Was fixated to the same spot, even though I slowly advanced for better detail & less obstruction in the grasses. After my photoshoot, it still stayed at the same position. 3. It was looking around in addition to looking at my camera. Interestingly, also was looking down the grasses under it, even though it was perching less than a meter above the ground. 4. Also was vocalizing intermittently but I feared to take out my recording gear and might have disturb it or missed photos. 5. The timing was perfect too 🙂 as it wasn't very foggy but the dew had not evaporated. Photos TBA…
