Observation details
After much study of my photos and a sound recording, there seems to be enough to call this a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher! The eye ring was clean , complete, and slightly teardrop shaped. Head did seem peaked, but varied with how much it was raising its feathers. Most interesting was the primary gap pattern (with two noticeably large spacing gaps as per the diagram in the new Lee/Birch Flycatcher book) and the recording of calls that were much closer to YBFL than WEFL, almost like a sped-up Black-bellied Plover call.
