Observation details
Bird flew in early in the day and drove off most of the foraging Passerines before perching on the a branch very briefly. Had initial reservations about calling it a Cooper's Hawk as it seemed to show a pretty small head and more defined eye structures. Was fairly distant and harshly lit at the time though bird appeared to be fairly large relative to the nearby American Robins. Eval of photo series confirms Sharp-shinned Hawk by more rounded head proportions, sharper facial features, and somewhat less graduated tail feathers.
