Observation details
I will add pictures and I've sent to several people to verify as this is a new subspecies for me. This bird was VERY dark. I ended up running out to see it because I thought for a moment it was an eagle or a vulture, it was that dark. There was an eagle soaring overhead (also unusual for the neighborhood!). It had dark eyes, a white "bib", and the top of the tail when it flew was also white but I didn't capture that in a photo.
