Observation details
here is a record shot of this fantail looking down from the canopy. This species is endemic to Seram Island. Fantails are "forest flutterers," active little birds that catch flying insects with flashy aerial acrobatics. They were formerly included with the Monarchs and Drongos in the family Dicruridae, but now split into their own family, Rhipiduridae. This one is sometimes called Streaky-breasted Fantail.
