Observation details
My count here is a conservative estimate of birds sighted and based on sound there was likely more birds than those counted. Identification based on noise, the bird noise here was an assault on the ears, with multiple woodland birds all making a lot of noise, but the Australian Ravens were unmistakable and the most vocal and loudest. I have never seen Australian Ravens in these numbers so close together and until today thought only Little Ravens flocked like this. The common call was the unmistakable 'arwk arwk arwk awwwwwwwwwwwww' of the Australian Raven. One tree had over thirty birds in it and Australian Ravens were scattered in smaller numbers all over the locality. Count is an estimate based on birds seen, some individuals and small groups in the native cherry and then the large group in a large eucalyptus (see photos). Photos and recordings attached. All birds seen in the woodland, not in open grassland.
