Observation details
Observed swimming near a group of Common Goldeneye. Small duck with dark head, neck, and back. Bright yellow eyes. Some white noted on the scapulars and back. Chest was white while the sides were gray with a scant amount of brown mixed in. The head shape more closely resembled that of a Hooded Merganser. Bill was black, the shape thinner and smaller than that of a Common Goldeneye. See doc shots.
