Observation details

White birds on Washoe Lake seen from a distance. Several times the size of gulls with which they were flocking (California or ring billed). Necks long, almost as long as the body. Merlin sound ID identified barking calls as tundra swan. Snow goose ruled out based on absence of black wing tips and no grayish immatures.
