Observation details

After repeated failed efforts earlier in the day along the same trail but closer to the road, when there was barely any activity and zero response to playback, our (Ashwin's) persistence finally paid off and took us by surprise. We had reached this inner part of the trail and there was a sudden burst of activity when the woodpeckers showed themselves. As we were watching them, an orphean warbler suddenly popped up, but as I was trying to show it to Ashwin he picked up a new call variation of the tit. With just a small nudge, at least two birds showed up and put on a brilliant show, giving amazing views and also making some interesting calls. They kept moving from side to side across the trail and we followed with our binoculars and phones to record. Never get tired of seeing this bird! As usual, this time also heard a new call variant. Certainly 2, possibly 3.
