Observation details
New state late date for any Phalarope species via eBird data. Directed to list as sp./ by reviewers due to photo quality, though my impression in the field through the scope was of a smooth, plain gray back and stocky bill indicating REPH. Photos obtained by taking screenshots and cropping/zooming in on digiscoped videos, originals can be seen here (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1RNfcB_3Oa5cUw_RYS6iCAovP8gsq75Qp) Overall photo impression favors REPH, with obvious heavy bill, much thicker to my eye than the needle-like bill of RNPH. Black mask pattern visible in photos rules out WIPH which would show no mask at all in November. eBird data date range also favors REPH, with confirmed OK records as late as Nov. 11 at Lake Carl Blackwell, whereas the latest OK record for RNPH is Oct 20 at the Lake Hefner WTP.
