Observation details
Rare (late). Small sandpiper flushed underfoot from grassy area high up east beach, called weakly and flew 100 metres east up shore, landed roughly and struggled on the ground. Likely in last stage of botulism poisoning. Late shorebirds at this location seem prone to this malady. Photographed.
