Observation details
All dark immature with yellow eyes and barred tail. No white speckles on breast as in B.j. harlanii. Presumed B.j. calurus, all dark birds much more prevalent in that ssp. Also noted an odd behavior, perhaps courtship ritual, with immature Red-tailed Hawk, B.j. borealis. That bird hanging below the perched B.j. calurus with talons locked. Photos tba.
