Observation details
More red on head and breast than RNSA. No obvious black bordering on its red throat (perhaps a smidge below beak). White spot above eye and bright white malar streak below eye. After much reflection, I can not justify calling this a pure Red-breasted Sapsucker. Its white malar stripe is just too bright and the black mark on its nape makes it not look like any pure RBSA photos I have seen. It could also use a little more red on its head and breast.
