Observation details
This bird stood out because of how pale and how the bill was mostly dark. Went home to study it and we think it is a Thayer’s. Smaller than nearby Western gulls and very light overall with some speckling on the back. Almost all dark bill is characteristic for juvenile Thayer’s. Dark eye smudge also seen. Slightly bulky around the tip. Photos.
