Observation details
Observed White Ibis foraging for food in shallow waters about 30 feet from the road. The bird was not too skittish. At times he would stop and stare at us and then continue walking slowly away from us through the water and reeds, stopping to forage for food. At one point he flew up and landed in heavy reeds about 50 feet away. The black-tipped wings were visible in flight. We drove away and on our return to the same spot 10 minutes later the bird was observed again in almost the same spot it was first observed. Again, walking slowly, keeping an eye on us and foraging for food. Due to the reddish/pink coloring of his bill and legs appears to be a male.
