Observation details
very interesting encounter - at southeast of the pond at the rocks at edge of pond, there was one male that was preening while perched on a rock just 1m off the edge of pond while another female that was foraging literally 0.5m from me, I could get some very close photos but it didn't raise its head much as it was foraging all the time with its bill entirely submerged in the water dabbling so most of the shots I have don't show its complete head. best photos I have of AMBD so far, very cool! they never really joined the mallard group as it moved around however, interesting because on gs campus pond the ambd like associating with the mallards. these two just stayed at the edge of the bank the entire time (before later moving up north towards central-east of pond with the other ducks)
