Observation details
Rare (late). High count (careful count). Very large raptors, slight dihedral, tawny head and nape, scoped and some photographed. Counted one sub-adult upon 2pm arrival at site, 3 additional juveniles between 2 and 2:45 and a group of 5 juveniles together at 3pm just before large snow squall system arrived. Birds not circling, would arrive heading south, approach lake and then leave back towards the north. Exciting event, atypical of my Golden Eagle encounters in Prince Edward County (46 prior records since fall 2019) which have: involved one or two individuals at a time, mostly occurred in the morning (9am to 12pm), and been in late October and early November.
